Hi guys. I'm planning on buying an engine sometime this year but baffled on what to get. The 1.1 is guttless, I need something with abit more umph! I was thinking a 1.4 Si to start with? Or a 1.6 out of a Si. What are they like? Any suggestions? "/

Get a 1.6 cvh engine out of a xr2i. Or get the carb version out of an xr2. Easier to fit than a 1.6 zetec - no modding of mounts needed. More power than a 1.4 cvh. But its all to do with how much money and skill you have i guess. Jon (jonboisescort) converted his 1.3 to 1.6 cvh. If you search for his thread: black and white fiesta - i think its called that. Just look through it and it bascially shows you the conversion process. :)

Ahh nice one. I did think about the 1.6 CVH but wasn't sure... Are they quite nippy? Obviously it'll be much greater than the 1.1 haha. Just want something with abit more power, obviously I won't turbo it or anything but it'll do. :)

a 1.6 zetec would give you a nice base for a 2ltr down the line

Thanks guys. I'll try my best to get a 1.6 then. Out of a XR2i right? They go for quite cheap aswell, just gotta find a good one lol.

I'll take a look...

By the way I've just bought another set of wheels for winter haha. White Weller steelies, 13's on low pro's. Looks good, I'll try and get some pics up.

Dont bother with a 1.4 si engine, the 1.6 zetec is useless too. Theb 1.6 cvh is pretty good, they are all quite old now though, most will have plenty of wear or oil leaks or something. On the plus side they are cheap to get hold of, i gave one away for free a few years back. The best fiesta engine, without going turbo, is the rs1800 zetec. I really enjoyed how revvy it is, though they are more difficult to get hold of. Both the 1.6 cvh and rs1800 zetec will take your insurance up the same.

I'll just have to find a mint one. Unless I go to some performance place and pay them to get me one. It'll cost alot but I want a better engine! :D

RS1800 engine in my Fiesta? If only it was easier said than done... Insurance would kill me. Still unsure on a 1.6 to be honest. I'll have to look into it more. At the moment it's still just a wee 1.1! :D

Really? I personally thought it was because you were thick. av? well the h key clearly works and so does the e..... so why not have?

Anyway

rs1800 lump would be good but yeah insurance is a big problem, 1.6 would defo be a good choice until you can get cover on one, gotta be better than a 1.1 :P

The issue with an engine swap is mainly insurance. RS1800 would be ideal. But at the moment it's still the bog standard 1.1

Theres some really cool updates soon. I'll get some new photos up of her so I can show you all... I'm a real attention whore! :D

Still in despo need of coilovers but I've spent my money on other things as usual. And still running 60mm springs on standard shocks... way too high for my liking.

Postby EUFez on Wed Jul 14, 2010 2:21 am

Wow! It's been too long... Where's MikeyB? LOL!

Well there's a few updates to Fanny actually.

- FRST Bonnet with a slight badboy. Up to swage line!
- Rs Accessorie 15' wheels are on, with abit of stretch. 165/50
- Cherry bomb exhaust.
- K&N air filter.
- Nice looking Rev Counter on the dash.

I'm thinking about ditching the red rear lights for some euro spec rears. How much do they go for?

As I haven't got a computer and just my s**t iPhone, I can't upload pictures. But I promise you pictures soon as it looks mint!

Keep an eye on this thread!

Need to take better pictures of it with the wheels on. Still keeping in mind about having BBS' in the near future.
