Here is the info from the original post:

-----------------------
Date: 20/10/00
Venue: Alconbury USAF base, nr Cambridge (top of the M11)
Event: Revs' Fiesta Day

We want to cram as many Fiestas in one place at one time, to have some fun on a track, chill out, chat to their mates, and generally muck about in their cars - for a 7-page feature in Revs.

Alconbury is the perfect place - it's a decommissioned American air base - which means 13/4 mile straight (no gravel - dead smooth, regularly swept and £50,000 per year spent maintaining it), with corners at each and plenty of twisty stuff in between.

There is nothing to run off an hit - no tyres, no armco... just lots of mint tarmac.

The day will go like this: turn up to the main office for 9.00am briefing, then out onto the track for the rest of the day. We'll split into 4 groups, giving us 15mins per hour to go mad on the track, followed by 45mins to cool off and talk about what you've just done.

Dave Clark will be on hand for personal tuition/car set-up.

Food takes the shape of a McDonalds, located at the circuit entrance (honestly!).

All this will cost the paltry sum of £20 per car, payable either on the day (cash only) or, preferably to reserve a place, by cheque (payable to Revs Magazine, sent to Revs Magazine, Bushfield House, Orton Centre, Peterborough PE2 5UW).

We recently ran a GTi-R track day to 3 Sisters race track in Wigan and got 77 cars... and 3 Sisters is basically a overgrown kart track. A Revs Saxo day at Alconbury last month got 60 cars... I'm sure Fiestas could beat that....

Any questions, either from you or from Fiesta owners in general, please call Issy on 01733 465507.

Alconbury is located at the top of the M11 - stay on M11, turns into A14, follow signs for Peterborough (not Kettering) - take last exit from A14 before A1 - signposted Alconbury. You can see the McdDonalds on the right hand side in a strange, UFO-shaped building. Up slip road, right at mini r/bout, over A14, across r/bout, up to main gate...

You don't need a helmet...

It'll be a memorable day.

Simon Hargreaves

-----------------------

Ant, from where youre coming from the easiest way should be straight up the A1 north when you come off the M25. You cant miss it that way.

Hi can anyone give me directions or some idea of where to head. Cannot get into the original post(cannot find server). I am coming from Kent and would like directions from the M25. PLEASE!

Plus when I do turn up, If one person rips the piss out of my car --------!! Yes you will recognise it(Si), it will be the one with the arches and sills a different colour to the body. This is hamerite to cover the rust before the bodykit goes on, NOT SNOW as some people think.
