Fair play!!
I expect a lot of people have already seen this, but hopefully people who have been to Bristol Zoo in the last 25 years (particularly if your a bus driver) don't get too angry
TRUE STORY:
Outside Bristol Zoo U.K. there is a car park for cars and coaches.
There also used to be a very pleasant attendant with a ticket machine charging cars £1 and coaches £5.
This parking attendant worked there for all of 25 years, then one day just didn't turn up for work...
"Ho hum", said Bristol Zoo Management - "better phone up the City Council and get them to send a new parking attendant" ......
"Err no", said the Council, "that car park is your responsibility" ...
"Err no", said Bristol Zoo Management, "the attendant was employed by the City Council, wasn't he?" ....
"Err NO!!!!"
Sitting in his villa in Spain is a chap who had been taking the car park fees for Bristol Zoo for the last 25 years...

Re: Fair play!!
No, I work for a council, theres no way they would have known who's responsibility the car park was!!
and I work for a county council, so I doubt the borough council would know
EDIT: Joking aside, I think it is real......

Re: Fair play!!
Once again proving the simplest ideas are always the best.
There was a similar con on The Real Hustle where the fat chap with a beard stuck a bag over the meter with sign saying faulty machine, see attendant for ticket. He then sat next to it with clipboard, ticket machine, fake id badge and luminous jacket on, took everyone's money all day and buggered off

I expect that depends who owns the land.... but I'm sure it's not that simple! Thats probably part of the con, no-one really knows who's responsibility things are so they carry on assuming it's someone elses job...

It would be if you were getting £100+ a day
