Dilemma...
I have a slight dilemma, I have just bought a phase one clio sport 172 off my friend cheap as he is moving abroad. My intention was to buy it, clean it, MOT it (it had short MOT) and sell it.
I mot’d it today and it flew through, now what do I do? keep it and sell chive (my mk5 zetec s) or sell this (the clio) on? Its so much fun to drive and is a better car than the fiesta……
Be interesting to hear your thoughts….
Gareth.

Re: Dilemma...
Simple, keep the Clio.
You said it yourself, it drives so much better than your Fiesta.
They also make great track cars out of the box as well.

Re: Dilemma...
It all depends what your after. For a daily I'd prefer a fiesta, although they aren't amazingly well put together they are nicer to use than a Clio, which things may start to show signs of wear a bit sooner.if its for track use then the clio would be the better option. A standard one will be quicker than a modified Zs/puma.the 172 I used to have, and my brothers were both awful to drive until they were warm too, really jerky, that alone would put me off using one daily
The above is based on my experience. Previous owners of cars have a big impact on how well it will stand the test of time.

Re: Dilemma...
Both have their merits. One has to go though as I can not afford or warrent having 4 bloody cars, lol
Theres certainly no contest in the speed performance, the clio is a million miles ahead of a mk5 ZS, but thats not the reason why im tempted to keep it. Ive only ever had one car thats not been a Ford so im keen to maybe try this clio out for a bit.
Plus I will need to see what the Mrs thinks because she drives the mk5 quite a bit, so she needs to be happy with the clio as well
Gareth.

Really swaying towards keeping it. Started to clean it this evening after work, but have a long way to go.
Will get some pics up at some stage.

Like the 172's & 182's but big thing that lets them both down....
Terrible driving position, Unless you get the Recaro bucket seats option.

Christ, why do people have such a negative opinion about these things? It's absolutely ridiculous.
Chimpanzees can do a much better job.

It's true it's French! Lol
Na in fairness every make and model has its faults, and not much between them now days tbh.
I would say keep both for a month or so and drive them both round and see which one you like best and stick with that one.
