my computer has been pissing me off the last few weeks first i had to restore windows but it wouldnt reinstall. then i finally got it to work but my hard drives all mixed i have a 250gb hd that came with comp it was split into 2 but my windows has installed on a difrent hard drive altogether
its installed on to a spare 80gb IDE hard drive could this be te probleme?
it runs so slow and keeps freazing i get messages up your system infected etc so think thts a virus but cant detect it lol
and i get windows messages up part of the read right memory or somthin could not be found and also debug faild send error report
any ideas what i could do? should i just formatt the acer drive and try instasll a fresh copy then formatt this 80gb drive?
also needs cleaning full of dust might do that first take all drives out and all cards/memory and cpu fan and hoover it with the car hoover and a duster

You have spyware/adware. The things that's popping up saying you're infected.

Do a backup of 250 GB's first parititon. You can copy relevant data to the second partition of the same drive.
Open computer case and carefully remove dust.
Then disconnect spare IDE drive
(or set 250 GB's HDD controller as a primary in BIOS / set the big HDD as a primary drive - if you do this right, there is no need to disconnect the spare HDD).
Then start the system, reformat the big HDD's first partition and do a clean install.
Once win instalaton is complete, reconnect spare IDE drive.
Install some antivirus, update it an do a full system scan.

If you are willing to reinstall windows then just make sure you do a full format of the disk in the process.
