OK I'll admit there are about 3 tunes that are any good but the most of it is just total crap! Dougal/Gamma/Breeze/Styles etc styleee... crap crap crap!

Thing is what was does hardcore go now? It's done the chipmonk vocals, chart rippoffs and the trance based sound what way does it go now?

I personally hope it dies out and the breakbeat hardcore scene rules the world (along with dutch gabber! )

mate it is the same with my "scene" bassline house, everyone nowadays just wants to make a quick dollar, using cheesy chart/rnb/ desperate top of the pops vocals and not putting any effort or passion into producing, all they are bothered about is sales, it used to be about the music and not it isnt, i can see this in hardcore aswell, r.i.p all dance music really mate

its going back to the `94`/95 style,ie big pianos etc...while keeping the trancey elements.
yes,luna c isnt too bad,but if you went to raves you would see he plays alot of rubbish himself,for eg, the beatles "help,i need sombody" rip haha.
playing out at the big raves like vibealite,futurevibe etc i saw this crash happening around me last year which is why i stopped playing out.
hardcore has cycles of popularity.
every 5 years,it reinvents its self.
91` to `96 it was great,but by early `97 people realized it was popular and started churning out quick tunes to make ££ of it and killed it.
peeps like si cranny,mr brown and not many others stuck around tryin to keep it afloat and low and behold 5 years later,2001 took elements from trance,and it reinvented itself.
the last 5 years (see the pattern here) have been the most busy in raves since the early `90s (allthough not in the same numbers by a long way).
guess what? its 5 years later again and the money hungry guys have returned,made a load of chart rips to get good sales and make quick ££ and killed the scene AGAIN.

ps,simon,in you check the Bsides to most dougal n gammer releases,they are very german influenced,and quiet harsh sounding mate,not at all like the fluffy Asides.

It's the trance influences I hate mate! Its awful imo.

Luna-c is an innovator. He is not scared to try different things. You may think the Beetles help tune is rubbish but I dont! Its quality!

Plus he didnt make that tune to make cash. In fact you cant even buy it apart from a £1 mp3 download!

Look at all the other grounding breaking tunes he has made over the years and still continues to do!

UK Hardcore is a crock of s**t imo and has been since 1998.

Dutch Hardcore on the other hand has been rocking since 94 and still going strong!

I agree on the 5 year cycle theory. Its very very true.

What direction to you think hardcore will go now?

yea i know hes not about £££ like,and your spot on,he is an innovator,as well as a thoroly nice bloke,even though hes still using the same samples he used years ago when he was cruel-t,hes doing thing different then most.
you might like some of hams stuff on nextgeneration/blatent beats,he also does alot of old sounding uplifting piano stuff.
cranny n chris held off for a few years with quosh releases refusing to follow the trance direction but they have had to follow suit because of the popularity of it.(allthogh the "new old sound" is right up their ally)
im guessing you have been listening to the "supersets" by luna c?
im not into them really as i think a dj should mix with 1210`s and cdj`s,not with a pc.(all my "none dj" mates think hes amazing haha).
wot next?? for the last year or 2 its been old sounding hardcore (big pianos etc) but made on much better software/hardware then was available 10 years ago,with a sprinkle of uplifting trancey elements but most are listening and realizing its going stale and trying to drop the trance but chart pop and hardcore are now so close that i do not think the gap can ever be widened again.
the new breed of ravers (well you can call them clubbers now as theres not many hardcore events not held in a club nowadays,another reason i stopped playin out actually) they dont know any different hardcore because theyve been fed hardcore compilations in hmv full of raverbaby tunes which are *usually* timestreached trance rips like dj sammy stuff and so these kids which were suposed to be mine and your sucsessers have been mind warped to think hardcore is the same as pop trance,just a bit faster to make it "different/underground/rebellious " when infact its about as rebellious these days as my dads sunday drive to the hand car wash.
its a crying shame which (allthough most people wont understand) upsets me as `91-2005 was a long journey of ups and downs for hardcore and i stuck with it,had some great times,but like the old saying goes,all good things come to an end.sorry about the waffle....

I suggest you try the "free party" scene! Thats what i've been doing lately and fooking love it!

Especailly when theres a 150k rig blasting out a oldskool set on the side of a welsh mountain!

yea,illegals are x10 better then any "big rave".
played at one called "missing" which was in an abandaned werehouse right next to man utd`s ground,old trafford.
it was exactly like the old days,just loads of up for it people and no trouble/beer boys etc.
6am set time and it was still rammed lol.
anyway,maybe we will bump into you in the near future at a car meet or a party and swap mixs....oldskool of course

i remember going to "yip" raves when i was a bit younger maybe in 95-96
and nothing that you get now will EVER compete with them, the atmosphere,the music,the people,the djs,the mcs,the bottled water ,glow sticks,bright clothing,nothin better than dancin till 7am in a mucky feild in the rain or a disused barn in the middle of nowhere,no cops ,no bother,just good times
