yes i have, you can get just a good finish [ERRR] a rattle, its all in the prep work, sand everything down nice and smooth, and using wet and dry 1500 inbetween coats to get it smooth you should be fine, bearing in mind, you've got to get the right colour, as i think rattle can matches are poo, also just spraying isnt that easy theres a knack to it aswell!!!

i painted a door for a volvo s70 with rattle cans and it came up really good!
the door was rusted at the bottom
rubbed it down with 240 grit to get the most off, then used 600grit, then primered it
rubbed it down with 800 grit wet n dry the put 8 coats of paint on.
then rubbed down the orange peel effect with 800, 1200, then 1500 wet n dry, then polished it up
it took 2 days to do altogether, i imagine it will take ages to do a car with cans, but i intend to do my mk3 fiesta that way

yeah just take ur time and preperation is the key, make sure the panels are really smooth and put quite a lot of paint on as you will need to flat it back and polish it up, just make sure when spraying you go from side to side evenly and then cover the panel again going up and down it to make sure you have got an even coat, i would say do about 6 or 7 'dry' (thin) coats then do one 'wet' (thicker) coat, nick
