Basically the elecy window is fine but the glass only goes down then when i try to make it go up the wire is pushing but not the glass it just doesnt move and slips down is there a catch on the regulator i need to replace or wot cheers . tom

sounds like [ERRR] happened to mine...theres a nipple thing on the cable which sits in a plastic housing....and on mine it snapped. i jus got another whole mechanism.

the nipple aint plastic...its the thing the nipple is in. and as for replacing it...i dnt [ERRR] u can...as its sorta attched to a metal bit . its best for you to take the door card off and hav a look.

it may not be the above...but does sound like it. and if that is the case then it is likely that you will get it to start working again.......but it will keep breaking!so leave your door card of and keep letting the window go up and down!

On Mk 3.5's the window rests on a white plastic bit and has 2 screws 2 secure the window, this piece slides up and down a metal runner which is rivited 2 the door (2 @ top, 2 @ bottom) It is moved by cables that go through the motor. u cannot detach the cabled from the plastic piece without serious trouble cos it all tentioned.
U can detach the white plastic piece from the metal runner if u take the window out, u just swivel it and it will pop off, easy 2 put back on 2.
The whole mechanism on a mk 3.5 can b taken off the motor with care, but on mk 3's the motor is in a metal casing and cannot b separated from the cable mechanism. hth if u understand wot i'm sayin :lol:

Take ur door card of and have a look, but it could b the plastic support, in which case, try and fix it cos replacing the whole lot mean drilling rivits out and riviting a whole new mechanism in, which i did a few weeks ago...arse of a job!
