Brakes - 280mm cossie or 308mm/4 pot brakes
As above
is 308mm discs and 4 pot calipers on a Fez too much, would it lock the wheels too easily?
Oh just one more thing. The 308mm discs have an aluminium centre. would that make them lighter than the steel 288mm discs from say a cossie?
Not sure what I should be saving for right now. Either way im gonna move my existing RS2000 brakes to the rear wheels

brakes will be better on 308, less prone to warping, sep rotor and bell, discs expand at diff rates from centre to edge thus warping, over 300mm and u get sep rotors and bells so that the rotor can expand at diff rate to bell and not warp.

lol stonedwor your power 308mm brakes are overkill
your rs2k brakes will not go on the rear
rear disk brakes are completely different to fronts ie handbrake etc lol

depends on size of your wheels, if u run 16,17 inchers then you have reduced your braking capability already, aint overkill if u use em, i do lol, car will still do 140mph, if u gotta stop at that i would rather know that i`ve gone ott and they aint gonna fail than find that they fade off at 30mph

Yeah snake thats the trouble dude. 17" wheels are heavy!
I've got RS2000 brakes on the front which are better than standard but not much. Recently I had to stop very quickly when some gammon slipper just changed lanes right in front of me without checking his mirrors. He was almost stationary in a queue and I was in the other lane doing about 40
When I braked they bit quickly as I would expect but then to my dismay just faded away like on my old 1.6s
Luckily I wasnt going faster or I probably would have bumped into him
So yeah, end result was I decided the brakes were pants and needed better ones.

Good job you stopped m8. I now have disks all round, but i had to uprate to a MK5 Escort Servo and master cylinder.
I have cossie brakes all round and the piston bores on the calipers are big, and the fiesta master cylinder is like a pee shooter!

Sweet
Mikey is it easy to change to the escort master cylinder?
If this needs doing I shall do it at the same time, oh and I dont suppose the escort master cylinder includes a bias valve does it?
Cheers mate
