Really annoyed.

My last laptop kept doing this then died all together, i have a Sony Vaio at present and its now doing the same, basically log in as normal, within 10 seconds, blue screen, where it counts to 100 and then turns the computer off :@

Im currently in some sort of safe mode, can use the internet but cant view any of my files, pictures or anything.

I tried to do a system restore, which didnt work, i also tried recovery, and it asked me to insert disc one, but then in brackets it says (recovery discs do not come with the computer as standard)..

Ive always done the updates, virus protection, scans, i don't know what else i can do with it now, every computer i have does this :x

Does it have an error or code on the blue screen, it usually tells you whats going on.

Is it XP or Vista?

The error will be listed in the event viewer, open the start menu and type event into the search box at the bottom then click on event viewer when it appears.

The log you want is the System one under Windows Logs. There should be an error that reports a bug check code.

Did it just start doing this?

Or have you installed any hardware or software? Even a external hardrive can kick it off.

Anything that might of changed the bios?
