well, the trick is to strt off rough...ie...use aDRY 500, then a DRY800, then DRY1000.

use a tackcloth to take off the resultant muck.

once primed...rub the primer down with WET 1500 untill surface is ubersmooth.

then get down to the painting.

i then gently rub down with a wet 1500 to remove anyway runs or bobbles or 'orangepeel effect' that can occour. after that a nice bit of elbow grease with t cut or similar stuff an a wax, will make your newly painted surfaces look the dog doodads :)

wicked thanks chaps, and yes draven thats what i was getting at

i will only laquer it if i spray it to match the car, my plan was to fit it all to my car sprayed matt black for the meantime, thats my rs from and sides and zs rear, then i can continue to sort the wheels, handling blah blah..

but a tourmallard green and radient red car would look more pants.. hence the idea to do it :)

thanks again lads, spot on ill go to hicklys afterwork and get my papers

the lacquer protects the paint and gives it a more deeper, fuller colour and shine.

lacquer makes it preeeety.lol.

if your lucky enough to own a compresser an decent paint gun (and have the ability to mix paint...like myself...) you can skip the laquer bit by adding lacquer to the mix before you spray. :)

nooo. i hate filler. i despise it.

i took all the care and time in the world filling out my number plate recess. then, it was finshed. dead flat an sexy looking...then the sun came out....hot.

heat=expansion...=filler popping out :(

all that work...for nothin

oh well. ill have a new boot with a spanking new idea to do soon

that depends on what fillers your using.. if you filled out the recess on the boot without first welding a plate in then it would have never worked bud
im pretty confident ill pull it off, im smoothing the bumper though :S

lol i know that now. nah, new idea, fit a brake light into the recess... weld over a panel with 'FIESTA' cut into it, backed with metal lattice grill...

brakes on, unusual lit upness.

or does that sound stupid?
