as in the title i need to buy a car have about £2000 to spend. what do people think is the best bet ? iv looked at the likes of an st170 so far or fiesta. but not sure what to get. whats people suggestions ? thanks.

Don't laugh...roomy, reasonably economical, and remaps to 200ish bhp.

ST170 isn't that good IMO. They aren't that economical but are quite slow.

Less practical but more sport. Again safely remaps to 200ish brake and is good fun.

MK3 Ibiza Cupra 1.8T. Pretty cheap, easily up the power up to around 220bhp with a stage 2 remap, plenty of fun.

ive had a cupra which had been mapped and it was plenty of funny and quite nippy.i now have a 03 ibiza tdi 130 bhp.nippy little car and returns very good mpg,55+ on long runs.with a map you can get over 150bhp with a shed load of torque.
