No, just weld some plates over the headlight and then it's best to get a bodyshop to smooth and paint the bonnet for you.

Gareth

ANDY, DONT WONT 2 TRED ON YOR TOES M8, BUT I THINK YOR CAR IS A Mk3 YEH, COS ON THE Mk2 IT DONT MATTER ABOUT PULLING THE BONNET FORWARD AS LONG AS U LEAVE AT LEAST A 1 INCH SPACE AT THE BOTTAM,THEN U CAN PULL THE BONNET UP FROM THE BACK, THE OPPOSIT WAY ROUND TO THE Mk3,( I MEASURED MINE WITH MASKIN TAPE FIRST,WHEN THE TAPE DONT TOUCH THE LIGHT THEN THATS THE LOWEST POINT U CAN GO). I HOPE THIS HELPS MATE!

Ged,

although you dont need to reposition the headlights, you will need to pull the front of the bonnet forward a bit as the welded on peices would otherwise smash the lights when bonnet dropped.

[Edited by Andy (14-09-2000 at 11:25 AM).]
