avatars?

i want a picture under my posts. i think this is the avatar? in my user control panel it says these are disabled. how do you change the status? :-? thanks in advance.

Avatars are to the right above your details but are gonna be removed. Your thinking of signature, thats what goes below....that can also be found control panel.
