AP clutch, pedal and actuator thingy

Postby xjtaggedx on Mon Jan 06, 2014 10:28 pm

sorry to post a new topic but i really need specific advise, next month i will look to get a new clutch and my usual garage Power Engineering are far to expensive for me nowadays. so i am going to a friend of a friend garage man, anyway i was told to get a AP racing clutch Organic, as its for road use and i will not go any higher than 195bhp with my car, now i was also told i would need a pedal conversion. being a 'conquering device' i dont know hardly anything about cars so please can you guy link me the clutch i need with the pedal conversion i need also. thank you in advance and i will be replying to all comments thank you again.

separate question, i also need a uprated actuator as i prepare to go up to 195 thank you again.

Not a pedal conversion but you need the escort mk5 white semi-circle ratchet thing on the back of the pedal. Then just cut the first few teeth out so it doesn't hit the back of the pedal when you adjust it in.

i only needed the pedal conversion when i went full 4 paddle conversion. Which was a ball breaking process!
when i ran the 4 paddle with a standard cover. it was no agro. and pedal was untouched

i couldnt tell you to be honest.

The only time i was happy with my clutch was when i ordered it from Grove Garage

Ahmed Bayjoo knew my power as he mapped my car so he put a clutch package together for me and that was it!

I can only advise you to do the same if you know your power output but im 99% sure he will advise a 4 paddle!

thank you for your help. starting to get desperate now as need to put a new 1 in. i like the idea of keeping the stand peddle but can not make heads or tails of this tbh. power engineering advised me i use an organic AP Racing clutch but would need a peddle conversion. hmmmm

maybe get power engineering to do the pedal conversion for you. its really fiddly
i assume the pedal will get heavy with the clutch kit they recommend

Still looking fir the right answer.
I have decided against a paddle clutch. I just want a direct replacement that can cope with 165 bhp possibly going up to 195 bhp. Please help me as I am a complete noob. Someone suggested a erst clutch would fit. Is that correct and where and what am I looking for thank you in advance.

Does one use the little piece called Pawl or is it redundant in this modification, as I can't see it in the few photos that are posted somewhere on this forum? Many thanks in advance
