where have you got the amp (how is it mounted), is it getting enough air to it to keep it cool? has it got the right fuse in it?

sorry mate couldnt understand much of what you wrote, but check that nothing is shorting out,you have a good earth to match a good power supply. has it ever worked before as asked? it could have been damaged somehow ie by overheating.has the amp ever felt.been damp? this can cause problems. :) HTH

disagree,

it could be an earting problem, definately worth checking first, but i reckon its most likely to be a short circuit somewhere within the unit,

amplifiers are notorious for doing this, and audio shop is the only place to fix these, not amazingly expensive as sometimes it can just be a small resistor gone, which is pennies plus the labour of bloke looking at it

local place fixed my old sony one for me for a tenner, had the same prob wud start up (green light come on) then about 5 secs after turning the key the red light would cut in.

i got fed up with the sony one int he end, unreliable piece of poo, sold it on ebay as broken! got a fair wack for it as well as amp repairs ant too bad, just got fed up with it.

it sounds like to me your running your amp on max and the amp cannot take it so it autmaticaly puts the cut of switch on. try turning down the gain if you need the gain on max your amp is clearly not powerfull enough for the sub. just because its 1000w and so is your sub it doesnt mean that they are a good match for each other .
