After some advice
Right as most of you no I have a silver k-reg FRST its very original / has all the original rare goodies. Only thing which isn't original is the suspension + 3 door cozzy wheels,
I want to go the concourse or very close to this standard route with this car, the money isn't the problem / but the space of having to do it somewhere is. spoke with RS EDDIE awhile back and his seen the car and was / is happy to help, but as said I just have no where to do it, I have my own yard but all my other cars are stored there so theres no where for them to go if I did it at my yard
So the advice im after is.
Should I spend the money I have saved for this £5000 - £6000 ish hopefully it wont cost that much
and make the car probably one of the best silver FRST out there ( But its just having somewhere to do it )
Or do I sell it and put the money I already have plus what I get from the car together and look for a minter ( I no any car I might buy might need very minor bits doing but for the sort of money I would be paying for one it wont need major work, so therefore I can do some stuff at my workshop without having to move all my other cars )
If my car wasn't silver LoL I wouldn't be asking this question id just sell it and buy a mint one ( but its just the rarity of mine and I no if I do sell it ill probably now never get another one )
Please help
Few pics for yous ( Enjoy )

Leave as is and dont bother lol.
You probably wont find a ultra low mile mint silver car or another coloured one that wont need suspension parts powder coating etc etc.My advice, stick with the silver one you already have

Baz keep the silver one.
IMO a silver concourse frst would be worth much more than any black grey white or red one just because of the limited number of them.

I don't just need to do the underside on mine though,
I want to strip it to a bare shell and have it on a spit and also fully paint it, The full works lol, Similar to RS EDDIES
I just though wonder with around £8000 - £9000 I should definatly get a lovey example which wont really need nothing and will save me a lot of time

How many silver Rs turbo are for sale now mate?
Better still when was the last time you saw one for sale?
My point is that if someone wanted to spend silly money on a mint Frst surly they would pay more for a rarer colour as the likely hood of a another mint silver Frst will be very slim.
The concourse scene is full of red fiestas! Lol get a silver one in there!!!

Seen quite a few for sale over the years and tbh they have never been priced higher than any other colour would be in similar condition.
Anyhow, yes would be good to see a silver concours car thats why i voted to keep it.
FRST SILVER-Would a £8-9k FRST be 100% stone chip, dent or scratch free?maybe scratch but i bet it would have a few chips on the paintwork(bonnet,f/bumper,rear arches etc).Thats the thing you need to weigh up

Re: After some advice
Parts are getting so rare to build standard cars nowadays that I've virtually given up atm.
I have paid a lot of money for a couple of parts so far and I'm along way off having all the things I need.
What parts would do you need for yours Barry ? or is it just a case for refurbing all what you have ?

Re: After some advice
I would not part with this if I were you. Leave it as is and you can still drive it and enjoy it - concours it and you can't in my opinion. You would struggle to replace it with a better one and this IS probably the best silver one left. I absolutely love the 3dr wheels on it!
Yes, the parts are getting harder to find but that was always going to be the case and you can't expect some of them to be plentiful when the newest FRSTs are 22 years old (the last of the line Classics are at least 18 now) and the FRST is a niche model that wasn't built in huge numbers. There were millions of MK3s built but only a few thousand FRSTs. FRSTs would easily represent less than 0.1% of all MK3s built. There was never going to be any need for Ford to produce any of the bespoke parts in such huge numbers particularly with the perceived life of these vehicles.
I am well known when it comes to supplying parts for MK3 Fiestas - admittedly I've not got a lot in stock for them at the moment but I still have a considerably amount of stock to be advertised for sale. I am sure I will source more MK3 Fiesta parts in the future but I do not have an infinite amount of time, space, and money so this limits what I can offer at any point in time.

Re: After some advice
cheers for all the help / kind words / advice
As for parts needed, all I really need to I some standard suspension and some P600s as I gave RS EDDIE 2 of my brand new ones
everything else is just a case of take it of and a nice freshen up / paint / powder coat / zinced where needed
the tyres wouldn't bother me to much as im not looking to show it in concourse, I just want a nice mint FRST as close to concourse condition as I can get it
I obviously source the tyres over time if I could
I have everything else, All the rare stuff, Mint gear knob, New steering wheel, Red HT leads, Mint original exhaust, Loads of new parts like lights
Just need somewhere to do it really ( That's whats stopping my plans with this car )
I need a mint frst to sit next to my concourse D-reg S1 lol

Re: After some advice
My thoughts are does it have FSH, and does it require panel replacement? In my experience a lack of provenance -ideally main dealer - is something that really lets down a lot of Ford restorations, and body-wise for a concourse car a non-welded/filled car is always going to be worth a premium (can be checked easily with a paint gauge).
If it doesn't have a full history and requires panels, I'd look for something that has a good provenance already and just requires bolt-on bits.
These things require a more serious level of investment now and it's best to get it right.

You would be hard pushed to find a non welded/filled car i think.Mine is but it isnt concours.
8/10 standard cars i looked at 13 years ago had had front ends, back ends, front wings,1/4 panels already replaced for petrol cap rot(probably need doing again now!).

Then yours would be the perfect base, mate, much like the one Shaun has. Spot repairs are expected at this age.
Most Turbo's were in the wrong hands at some point in their life, but some weren't - yours, Jay's etc. - and it's those that will shine through as original cars.
Just my opinion of course
