Adding Comments on YouTube

Postby Ollie on Tue Feb 10, 2009 9:13 am

Has anyone else noticed how utterly crap YouTube's commenting system is?

Half the time when I post something it doesn't work, then when it does it seems to randomly decide whether to post it under the comment I've replied to or just stick it at the top.

This happen to anyone else?

I find I sometimes have to refresh to see the comments, sometimes its live. Sometimes if I reply to someone elses comment it appears at the top leaving the comment totally out of context!

Its a rubbish system, doesn't seem to work correctly at all! Plus the silly flash adverts and annotations that you can't switch off either.

haha, no it isn't just you. Youtube is getting slightly irritating now, its a shame. They've introduced these new "features" that really don't do much.
A lot of the video footage on youtube is from webcams and mobile phones, so why have they changed the video box to 16:9 fixed? I wouldn't mind if it was optional.
Same with the new annotations. I really don't want to see PLEEZ SUBSCRIBE INIT plastered all over the video when I want to see some fail (), I wouldn't mind if there was a global option to switch it off.
Final one - why do I have to confirm my birth date every time I want to watch something with slightly questionable material? Surely having my DOB in my profile is enough?

/rant
