Well FINALLY ive managed to get a free day in life, and after this thread Here... ive decided to keep her

So i thought id get out and get a few pics..(only been about 2yrs of trying to get some )..and tell you all abit about old 7 shades.

We bought her on the 18/5/2009 as needed a car as daughter due to be born, and for me it was gonna be an RS that brought her home.
Im the 10th keeper, she's a 90 on an H, running OFAC, has all MOT'S back to varify its 99k miles and a folder of history so full i cant close it
...Well she done that no worries and at least another 8mths before the TOTD 165bhp'd cvh decided enough was enough.
A re-build later and all well for a bit and then bam, white smoke again...so pulled off road mid 2010 and has sat ever since while everything possible went on in life.

she do need some( ) work, and i know once i get digging there will inevitably be something more than the eye can see..but is remarkably solid aswell so hoping other than being about 7 shade's of white, and looking like a 100.000 miler cosmetically she could be a real solid one to work with

Now FINALLY its time to really try and stick with it and save this old s**t

So ripped the motor out at weekend and left it there....for now. The motor is the least of her issue's, but has left a rather minging hole im dreading cleaning up

Anyway's enough waffle here's a few hasty's for now...

Plans are afoot, but its parts dependant so really need the help to hunt em down, and all the advice/knowledge i can get from you good folks on here.

plan A is to gut completely and spit it,,and go from there really

Like i say there is ALOT of graft needed here and im in no delusion of how much...

just looking at the pics myself i spot more and more to do, she really is at the cross roads of her life, and i know its gonna be a long road, its simply where to start, and that is with the fact she is in need of 100% start again time.

She will never be a stunner but all im after is a solid/safe/ and hopefully useable example that i can enjoy, and be proud to say i saved one, esp one that means so much to me

Both quaters are still stamped ford(behind the bumper) so if she has been repaired then how its been done only time will tell...
TBH there is nothing in the history about a repair being done but deffo must have had something done as its whole
ni-on zero gob in her though as my trusty fimbles fridge magnet sticks to her everywhere...but all will be revealed when the paint starts to be removed eventually..

The inner wing has had a coat of brush sealer there(removed the old ford stuff) as i were looking for a leak..turns out it was the door rubber
So all the sealers gonna come off and ideally all be re-done in time, ideally i wanna bare metal the whole shell.

Well id say more cream tbh mate, reckon she been painted in that special shade known as "diamond white-ish"...
you know the shade you by from stevie wonder's paint shop

Kept the rain off her though so they got it right....ish

if shes fairly solid mate, the battle is half won, she will be alright once you get cracking, although your find things you never knew was there, but you deal with it as you find it and its all good

I wish my Rs looked that clean when I first built mine all them years ago.
Clean up the engine bay and your onto a winner.
You need a silver decal for the boot lid too

Yeah i reckon once the digging starts she need a bit, done two small plates a long while ago, just for mot and not for looks thats a fact
I just feel its time to clean the whole lot up..so tired looking, only fair i suppose she deserve's a bit of propper love for being so patient

regarding that decal, looks dark grey to me like what was on mine from standard. like the the one i pulled off last week in prep for painting...hope i can get another in same colour! also, i bid on a ford badge on the bay maximum 1.99 and it went for 23 quid.

Mate there is one in the same colour as mine(black/charcoal/grey whatever it is ) on flea bay atmo...believe its a genuine one an all
