2 Gear Noise

Postby Gazz on Thu Jul 17, 2003 3:42 pm

When I am accelerating in second gear, there seems to be a whinning noise similar to that of a supercharger. Anyone got any ideas what the noise it. I wish it was a fudgekin supercharger. The car is a 1.1 mk3 Fez.

It won't fit, make sure its full of oil, and it'll last ages

Gearbox from scrappers shouldn't be more than £50

Easy to fit, dependent upon your toolbox (oo-er)

BowdenJ - why won't it fit, exactly?

I have an RS1800 (uprated bearings box) available for sale - I want shot of it and it's in good nick so you can have it off me for £50 notes if you're in or near London any time soon :)

Doesn't make bugger all difference as far as the gearbox is concerned - they all use 17-spline input shafts.

Don't think I will be in London any time soon, and I probably wont have a Fiesta either if and when I visit there.

Gazz, where are you based? If it's not too far I won't mind running the box up to you.
