The Fords Of Tunerfest North 2021

Sometimes you get lucky. Back in 2016 when I last attended Tunerfest, the weather was not playing ball, despite being held mid July. This year saw the show land in the middle of a week long heatwave which brought cloudless blue skies and 27°c to Oulton Park.

A decent selection of cars on display, but nothing jaw-dropping like you might get at the larger events, Ford-wise at least. The modified Mk8 Fiesta ST was the first one I’d seen I think, and it’s always a treat to see an Escort Cosworth these days.

This was the first show I’d attended in nearly two years and things were largely back to normal. Despite the organisers claiming limited capacity, it seemed to be as busy as any event I’d been to and the only discernible difference (aside from the usual indoor regulations) was the paddock being closed to the public. Sadly this meant the best metal, including the Time Attack cars, was only viewable when on track and therefore at a distance and moving swiftly.
