Ford Fair 2022: Excellent Escorts

The Mk4 Escort seems to be undergoing something of a renaissance at the moment and it seems to largely be down to one man - Jez from Carrera Bodyworks, the chap behind the incredible Rubystone (pink) car from last year.
With at least three of his creations present it’s clear that enthusiasm for the car is still there, along with the willingness to spend a lot of time and money on creating something that turns heads in this day and age. The RS1700T example in Porsche Black Olive is bang up to date and being inspired primarily by competition cars is likely to age well.
The same cannot be said for another wide arch car - the German cabrio. With distinctly late 80s/early 90s styling, from the kit down to the airbrushed bonnet it’s very much of its time. I’m not sure if this is an original survivor build, a restoration or a recent project using period parts but it’s both a window into the tastes of the past and a warning that fashion is fickle, but race spec is resilient!
