Ford Fair 2012: Old's Cool
Retro Fords

There’s an old saying that goes “Old Fords don’t die, they just get faster”. As time goes on and old Fords get older this seems to get more and more true.
To my mind there’s just something so perfect about the marriage of that classic body shape and modern technology. It’s the best of both worlds.
Not all the retro Escorts at Ford Fair were track monsters though. Some owners have their own views on how such aged machinery should be treated. The fantastic blue concours Mk1 RS1600 was unbelievably presented, right down to the period correct rubber. Cars like this make it just as easy to appreciate the conservationist point of view.
Some used in anger, some perfectly preserved. Just how it should be.
