ZT compression ratio help please

Postby samantha on Sun Oct 02, 2005 12:31 pm

I have been trying to work out the c-ratio of the zt im building, & im unsure if my calculations are right or if im doing it right!

The bore at bdc holds 510 ml, & at tdc it holds 10ml, i measured this with a syringe using duck-oil & didn't let it overfill (as fluid does!). The head with the standard gasket sat on its face seemed to hold 70ml (i did use water to measure this though, nothing else at home)

So at TDC the area is 10ml deck height + 70ml gasket & cumbustion chamber = 80ml. 80ml + 510ml = 590ml.
Finaly 590ml divided by 80ml = 7.375 Is this my ratio?

The pistons sit level with the deck, with a dish in the centre that holds 10ml, just so you can get the picture, does it sound realistic, or have i gone wrong somewhere?
Thanks for any help or advice :)
