As above, but i really dont want to use itunes, what other repetable sites are there, and how much are tracks gona cost? can you listen to snipets of the track so you know its the right one?

I use bearshare, http://www.bearshare.com and use the free version. used it for the last few years although you cant listen to them before you donwload them cost absolouty £0!!!!!

no mate. bear share is illegal if you download any copyrighted material.

fraid the only places i can think of would be napster or itunes.

the bearshare 6 service might be entirely legal, after all, all they do is supply space on the internet. Its its users that do the illegal part i.e uploading and downloading copyrighted material. they will have a disclaimer somewhere saying they cant be held responsible for the sites use and that it is the end users who must use it within the law or face any legal action brought against them.

That said, it is generally those who upload to these types of sites who end up in trouble, not the people who download from them.

As said above, if you want to be legal, use itunes or napster

Take a look at http://www.emusic.com , they haven't got all of the mainstream chart stuff, but they've got a lot of good stuff and they don't infect their files with DRM.

Another option would be http://www.rhapsody.com although that means installing RealPlayer.

Or there's http://www.napster.co.uk which is now apparently fully legalised up.
