Whats the best rear disc conversion these days?

Postby SimonT on Sun Dec 27, 2015 1:31 pm

Been ten years since I looked into it, so what now is the best rear disc conversion for the mk3 and 4 fiestas?

I've found a 258mm bolt straight on no mods required upgrade if you are running pony old 240mm fronts. Its not ZetecS MK5 stuff either. Cheaper too. but I digress,

Ive heard theres a hyundi and possibly a citreon kit that bolts straight on. It uses a small drum for the hand brake and discs for normal use. Ideally looking at a disc size on the rear no bigger than 240mm.

go!
Too old and too bald.

I've not really looked into this much. People tend to use the rs2000 setup. That's all I know. A easy setup would be good if you can get the parts easy enough.

I'm toying with this idea too. I'm running 4pot HiSpec on a 280mm disk. Mainly due to running a 15inch wheel. The car does stop really well but due to the issues with drums it does tend to step out when hard on brakes.

Not sure on the benefit of rear conversation weather it's worth doing or not.
