I bought a pair of seats which are in very good condition and seem to be of eighties type velour. I haven't a clue as to what they are out of but im almost certain they aren't from a ford.



Can anyone shed some light as to what the came from originally thanks

A friend of mine has just said the same. There is only one tilt lever per seat which is quite low down. I intend to list them on eBay so would like to now imagine they be worth a few quid if they are they owe me next to nothing

Certainly looks like them, Recaro did quite a bit in terms of seating for hot hatches in the 80's and 90's tbf.

lookin at the size of the headrest id say 8v astra ,get a pic of the runners

No runners on them mate I been looking at Astra pics now from a quick google search and they are not GTE seats

They have leg extension which travel out quite a bit and are quite wide on the base compared to fiesta ones

The lad I bought them off reckons they where in his fiesta rs turbo but I have never seen them in one. The material is very fordish like the material on the rs1600i escort and Orion ghia of that early eighties period.

Dont think they are mk5 rs2000,deffinatly different to my mates old one.
Dont think ive seen them in a ford.My instinct straight away thought of Vauxhall but not sure now

I think they are MK2 Ford Granada 2.8 S Recaros.

What would you want for them as they may be needed for a future project.

They defo aint 2.8i S granada seats. They are light grey, like s1 erst recaros!!

They for some reason look very Rover-ish!!! Remember seeing a Rover 820 Vitesse years ago with very similar seats!!

Id have said astra an all..

Take the headrests out, see if they got stickers on them..my recaro's have iirc..

also have a look underneath them at the seat pan area, sometimes a sticker in there.

Don't think they're rover, trim is entirely wrong and bolsters are a different shape imo.

Unfortunately the MK2 I was after was sold within hours of it being advertised, frustrating as I've been leaving notes on it for years and it definetely would have needed a new seats.

I've got a few brochures with the MK2 2.8 S Recaros in but I've not got them to hand so can't scan any pictures in.

The Rover 800 Recaros are nothing like these and tend to be half-leather, different fabric and don't have the stiching down the middle.

Tompete was right!!! They are dark in the pic you put up, as are they in this pic:





Though when i have seen these mk2 granada 2.8i Sport seats in the flesh (sisters fella had a gen 2.8i Sport a few years back) they appeared like a light grey, like in this pic:

IF you were a bit closer I would have these and put them away for when I actually need them. I've already got a pair of Puma Millenium Leather Recaros which are awaiting a re-trim although I will probably have them made into new computer chairs

Tom I will advertise them on eBay mate and if I don't get what they owe me I will gladly keep them for you until a show maybe fiesta in the park will you be attending this year. They are in fantastic condition mate considering they are now nearly 30.

Thanks for the offers guys. I'm going to leave it for the moment as I've need to make as much space as possible for deliveries that I am expecting from Dubai and Greece.

I'd rather these go in a 2.8 S as chances are if I got a MK2 it probably wouldn't be a 2.8 S and I'd be planning on having the interior re-trimmed. I can't see myself having one anytime soon (space in the yard but not in the unit), the one that I was after was a to good price to pass on but sold before I could get my hands on it.

I am sure you won't have any problems selling them if you list them on eBay.
