Was anyone at TOTB?
Top day as always!!!
but, as always too, a VERY POOR effort by the Ford guys.... all too busy worrying about their precious cosworths getting dirty or perhaps breaking.... poor.
I'm going to build a 900hp+ escort cosworth (not using the cosworth engine cause its too expensive and rubbish) and rape everyone at that show one day....
one day.....
JAmes.

Re: Was anyone at TOTB?
Yep, a good few of us went along
I drove right up from Somerset in the wee small hours and all the way home again last night! TOTB is the event of the year for me, it's worth the miles. I was disappointed not to see Keith Cowie until very late in the day (and I only saw him run once, very slowly, getting the car warmed up on the strip), and it was a shame to see Ludders having a hard time getting to grips with the RIPS Racing Drag-R. I genuinely thought he'd rattle out easy 9s and challenge for a high 8s pass come the end of the day.
The sun was extreme, and after precious little sleep and a massive drive I had to leave around 3pm to make sure I stayed away and got home before midnight. Another good event, but as you say, no Ford presence there at all really.

Re: Was anyone at TOTB?
We was there supporting the ford presence... as always
The problem is... Tuners dont want to put the money into 'old' fords... most fords are owned and paid for by the owners themselves... most of the jap cars there are owned and driven by the owner (most of the time) BUT are paid for by the tuners as companies for advertising... This is why they can take their cars so far and they leave the people behind that just pay for it themselves...
Its a shame really because there are that many good fords out there... Steve Scott for example a couple of years ago went out in his escort an on his sighting lap got a good enough time to have come something like 3rd, but unfortunatly he had gearbox issues and broke and had to g home...
This year Pat Doran was signed up to race but didnt show - not sure why - but he was due to be there in his ford...
As we say every time... maybe next year
We will be there as usual - every year - until they say thats enough now
x x
