When I picked it up it had stood outside for a short while so has minor surface rust. If i was to use it I would probly give it a quick grit-blast & etch prime.

Are there any dents that would require body work to be done? As you said, you would just treat the shell for surface rust then it would be good to go?

What is the history behind it? How many people have had it and where did it come from? I ask this becasue i want to re-shell my FRST but want to keep its original identity. The DVLA say this...

Vehicles that have been rebuilt using a mix of new or used parts

In order to retain the original registration mark:

cars and car-derived vans must use:
The original unmodified chassis or unaltered bodyshell (i.e. body and chassis as one unit - monocoque); or a new chassis or monocoque bodyshell of the same specification as the original supported by evidence from the dealer or manufacturer (e.g. receipt).

And two other major components from the original vehicle ie suspension (front & back); steering assembly; axles (both); transmission or engine.

If a second-hand chassis or monocoque bodyshell is used, the vehicle must pass a an enhanced single vehicle approval (ESVA) or single vehicle approval (SVA) test after which a "Q" prefix registration number will be allocated.

I wouldnt want my car to become a Q plate, for obviouse reasons.

I wish i had the money, space and time. God, that would be a dream to build a car up from a brand new shell .

Brand new parts, brand new fiesta (zero miles), 2.1 zvh that hasnt even been run in, wow! I dam wish i had the money, space and time... I'd build it up to be the newest old mk3 fiesta!

This guy did the same thing when my Mk3 was up for sale as a complete car. Talk of getting a transporter to come down, get the car, deliver it to his house while he was overseas etc....then no replies to PMs at all. There are some odd ones out there
