[FAQ] Turbo shaft Play

How much play should there be in the turbo shaft?

there should only be minimal play side to side on the shaft and there should not be any play at all inwards and outwards on the shaft, this will mean the oil seal has gone and the turbo needs a recon

up/down side/side movement is ok with the engine off, as the oil pressure removes this once running. There should be no endfloat at all, this indicates wear.
