think ive been scammed NOW SORTED
Basicly a set of wheels came up for sale on this forum which I purchased, he didn't want paying thru paypal but thru a company called western union, I made the payment on Wednesday last week n have had no contact with the guy since n no wheels have turned up. Wots my best way of dealing with this, I have no contact number for him and a few other people have tried to conact him for me but with no luck.

If in doubt, flat out.

Western union? To be honest as soon as that was mentioned I would have just walked away without question.
I bet he was from Nigeria too.
Unfortunately I wouldn't know what to do in this situation - perhaps phone your bank and see if theres anything you can do (if it was credit card you can get the money back)

Who was the user?

If you look at the photo links, andymcd appears in there, suggesting that the photos are his... Might be worth asking him about them, as he may well have sold him the wheels originally, or they may actually be his still, in which case he can tell you whether or not this rsturbo11 bloke actually owns them wheels or not.

Looks like the wheel pictures on that for sale thread were taken from another user's photobucket account... Unless he bought them and is just struggling to find a courier for £25? Doesn't look too great though, new user straight to selling parts. Western Union etc...

Re: think ive been scammed
its only been a week i would wait a little longer before letting the alarm bells ring....
before i sold an frst rad and used a courier off ebay.... and the guy i used was cheap but only was in my area to pick up the rad a week after sale then would take it to its destination with in another 3 days.. so thats over 10 days when money changed hands.
as he was a man in a van he would travel the country delivering and picking up stuff as he goes... so he can keep the cost down. e.g will deliver something near me then and collect my item.. then once he picks up something near where i want mine delivered he would do both at the same time etc... two birds with one stone effect.

Re: think ive been scammed
weston union, agree with the rest, i would of walked...
speak to weston union again, if the guy is for real, they should have some form of record of the transaction i would of thought, but tbh, when ever i see "weston union" i think, scam!
i am sorry to hear about it, and hope its not a scam, but i dont mean to tar all with the same brush, but new users should be avoided really when there selling stuff as you just dont know if there for real or not, but it does come down to the buyers own risk, and it is hard to turn down a part that is hard to get or prices just right when you need/want it, ive not posted about parts i have wanted in the past as they have been new users, some of these users are still on this forum even now and i kick my self, yet a couple times ive not posted, the new user has robbed people, in which case i dont kick myself.
anyway, it might be worth contacting ade to see if he can give you any more info about the user such as email address etc, as ade has access to that info where as i dont.
also, it might be worth contacting the police and seeing what they say about it, but i would deffo get onto your bank to see if they have something that can help, such as fraud dept or something

Re: think ive been scammed
I sent the guy a pm about the wheels and collecting them, he said he was back and forwards between Ireland alot so collection wasn't really an option, so would need to be courierd ideally. May have been true or maybe not. Possible he hasn't been able to get onto a pc: has he read the emails/messages you sent him

If he's close to me on the Emerald Isle I could get them if they're here and arrange collection / courier from mine if you'd like

trading standards wont wanna know as its not a trader, its a private sale
did you have a weston union account or did you set one up via a link he sent you? if it was through the proper weston thing (via post office anint it now??? never used it) they will have to keep a record of the transaction, so if your account is legit then go back to then and speak to them again, they should be able to provide you with some information, but not being a person thats used, or will ever use, weston union, i would assume they dont have any form of buyer protection like ebay/credit card, and hence why people use it to rip others off.
i do feel for ya though mate, tbh, i dont see you getting a bean back, or any parts what so ever

Weston union never ever go there. We all get caught from time to time. Seen as he only had 5 posts I wouldnt have trusted the seller.
Im concerened in regards to andymcd
on passion ford though 4000+posts, nut nope to weston union.
I really hope you get it sorted.
I would also add I would love for someone to find a courier that will do 4 wheels and tyres for £25. due to wheight of wheel and tyre along your pushed to find cheaper than £40 as 4 parcels. £75 as one

I can see from the moderating logs that the original for sale post with the wheels was posted from the same computer that andymcd posts from, might be worth seeing if anyone has contact details for him as he's clearly trying to cover his tracks IMO
