quality post swannik
now alot of us have made unfair biased comments about ur car beating this, this ford being s**t this vauxhall being s**t blah blah...
but in reality how many of u have driven a complete range of corsas and fiestas..
i can say i have driven one of the early 1.2 corsas, a later spec 1.4 sri, a 1.2sxi and a new shape 1.2 sxi, and a brand new 1.0 corsa that my sister owns. i have also driven a mk3 fiesta 1.1, 1.0, 1.3 sx, mk3.5 si, mk4 si 1.25, mk4 ghia a brand new mk6 and a mk5 zetec-s.
now from having driven all of these cars i can make a few simple judgements that i believe to be true, firstly the corsa base models are very basic and as standard have no sporty feel at all, this can also be said for the fiesta's...
moving up the range the 1.4 sri corsa is very pokey for its engine and puts out a fair wak of bhp, but saying this its no comparisson to a zetec-s no matter what so and so has said b4. The 1.6 gsi corsa i have not tried yet but would assume it will be quiker than teh zetec-s however i dont like the handling on corsas and teh z-s is a very good drivers car in terms of feed back and ride.
1 thing is clear tho, the corsa has no standard match for a FRST unless u bring about the 2.0 conversions and then u can compare that with a 2.1 zetec turbo
rite basically what i am agetting at here is neither car is significantly better than the competitor until u start comparing the highest standard spec where ford did seem to give a little bit more effort and of course a turbo is always handy
in terms of looks and reliability there will always be arguments, personnaly my taste is towards the fiesta but i have also seen some nice looking corsas in the past.
i think all in all every1 has an opinion, and bare in mind that some s**t about a smaller engined and generally worse handling car winning a race is unlikely to be down to the car.

Are you submitting that as a piece of coursework? 200 words or more?
I'm not interested in arguing with people, I just laugh at them getting stressed out and wind the handle a bit more.

I see the lighter side of everything, why take anything like this seriously?
It's some people's comments I don't really understand...
I always find it strange how people diss cars they don't own in ways that only the people who own then could possibly know the truth. In the last 6 years my car has only broken down twice and they were both my own fault. It's often amusing how people make comments like this about a company that's produced the some of the best selling cars for about the last 30 years... surely if they were crap noone would buy them.
The other thing I get from reading these other forums is there seem to be a different class of people on there. Maybe it's because we have a swear filter but they all seem to be coarser people. Things like that girl having "on the c0ck" as her location, and some other bloke has something similar. They also seem to abuse each other a lot more than we do, Roy Bacer was the same last time I looked on there... I looked and thought, "hmmm, this lot are a bit too gobby". Seems strange, but I guess the different cars attract different people, hence why we all have similar attitudes and they all have similarly bad taste in cars.

nomaderst :To be fair it was harsh of people on her to rip it out of that poor girl
I agree, I love Corsa's and if she needs any comfort.....pass on a message to her to email me.
Sunny.
Do you have any idea what 178.8mph feels like in a Fiesta? 2000 lb of pressure per square inch per second pushing back on your face. It feels like god himself is trying to rip the skin off your skull while someone lands a 747 on your chest.
