your welcome to store the rs on my drive way under a car cover but ideally you should find a lock up, about £50 a month nowadays...

f**k sake man!!!!! Out of alot of poeple on this forum you have to be one of the most unlucky. Gotta give you alot of credit for sticking with this car mate :) Alot of us would have given up long ago.

I really dont understand how instead of appriciating a nice example of what is now becoming a classic car people just get jeleouse of the owner and think it will be fun to deface it and ruin alot of hard work. A mate of mine has just had his nova totally striped and rebuilt with a full respray and some c**t has keyed up the bonnet and down both sides. He's absolutely gutted and just because of some sily little pikey scumbags

We should all go pikey bashing and clense our good nation of these dicks

Hub nut came loose. Shaft came off from the outer cv joint.

The hubs splines were smashed to pieces and the wheel bearing was in numerous pieces.

Just goes to show that lowering your car and fitting 18 inch alloys to a fiesta takes its toll on wheel bearings :(

Re: The Recaro Fiesta - underneath !

Postby knuckles on Sat Aug 16, 2008 3:45 pm

not been updated lately as not much as happened.

but today i managed to get a ramp to use to have a butchers underneath at the Rs. I spent only half hour cleaning all the old oil and grease off the underneath.

Got a few areas that need some attention soon. Want to do some of the work my self but not sure how bad the rust is. Anyway here are some pics.....

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Few scabs here nothing serious.... :)

Image

bit of surface rust here at the back ...

Image

sills :(

Image

Image

Nothing is falling apart yet but bit worried that it will if i get a grinder on it ....

Image

Broken arb clamps

Image

Tank cleaned up alright. surprised this hasnt rusted :o

Image

Drive shaft still not fully in gearbox. May have to refit the ball and cage type shaft as its slightly leaking transmission fluid

Thats it for now. Any advice on doing the rust will be much apreciated, Im glad there are no holes of bits falling off. My boss said its the best H reg he has seen underneath wise. :D

nothing much there mate, all that surface rust will clean up fine.

thm bits at the back will more than likly need plating, common problem on mk3's, even the mk2's suffered from it and i wouldnt mind betting the mk4/5's too, its a bloody water trap.

tank must of had a coating on it like we spoke about on the phone, but if its bare metal now, get some paint on it
