Tappets and Seals
I have a 1.6 S that is currently running like a bag of nails.
The tappets need replacing due to the amount of noise they are making. Can the cam shaft also be worn and be contributing to the noise? The car has done 60,000 miles to date.
How much will this cost? I will be doing the work myself, once i know what has to be done i know what to do and where to go etc (good ole Haynes manual).
The oil stem seals will also be done at the same time, how much are these?
Cheers!

Your cheapest option is to invest in an aftermarket cam kit from the likes of Piper, Kent, etc.

get the cam kit like already stated. Also the cam on the CVH is a service item, needs a new cam and tappets every 50k or so.
Why? Well due to Fords wonderfull production the lifters bores are not quite right in position to the cam lobes.
The cam is also drip fed through wee brass bushings which clog easily.
Theres no point in just the cam or the tappets as they will never mate to each other properly.
Having not read the links this may have already been covered there.
