Starting Problem... Maybe Alarm?

Postby fernando_khan on Mon Apr 24, 2006 6:55 pm

basically all was fine on the fiesta rs1800 until i turned it off for few seconds... the alarm was deactivated at this point.

tried to start it and nothing so thought the immonilizer must have kicked in but the fob for the autowatch alarm wasnt doing anything....normally to de activate the immobiliser id press the button and itll beep twice to deactivate alarm etc.

the fob itself was lighting up but the alarm wasnt responding so tried starting it with the key and nothing... so thought maybe the starter motor?? gave it few wacks with screw driver went back and it was turning over single clicks but not enough to fire up. After few more attempts on the key it just started!! ???!

so what i dont know is weather its the alarm or the starter... does anyone know if the alarm needs to be connected to the starter motor to activate deactivate or something ??? if it was just the starter shouldnt the alarm still work? i tried my spare fob and that wasnt working too....

any help much appreciated...
