Speaker adapters

Postby Gazeddy on Thu Mar 09, 2006 8:39 am

Has any one else come up with this problem?
im trying to mount my new 13cm speakers in the front doors of my mk3.5 but the screws that came with the adapters wont allow the adapters to sit close enough to the doors to screw them into place?
would pop rivets do the job or do i need glue etc?

Do you already have 5 1/4" speakers to go in?

The reason i ask this is it would be a good idea to replace your standards with bigger speakers.6" speakers fit in nicely with a little bit of work:wink:

Shame that. I fitted a set of 6" Kicker KS Components in mine and i was well impressed with how good it sounded after. It's a bit of work but worth every minute.

Back to the screw problem i reakon its a case of use longer screws on the adapter plate.

When i bought my Si it had 5 1/4" rockford's in the doors which were fitted using plates and the adapter plates were nutted and bolted in with cut down bolts of some description  CUSTOM Thats what its called
