Security Cameras

Postby Ruishy1 on Sat Nov 29, 2008 10:25 pm

Round my way there seems to be more and more chive scum wandering in from other areas and loitering about, and they now have a habit of defacing the cars in this area :x

It seems to be the nice cars, and the modified they are targeting obvious jealous little cnuts.

Now has anyone ever bought a security camera even just one of those ones off ebay ?
Ive seen a couple, the small wireless ones ( which im after ) and they are not expensive, but would like some opinions or advice as i dont wanna spend loads,

any help would be appreciated, as i wanna buy one within the next week :)

Got one from Curry's a couple of years back. It's only black & white but has night vision (to a certain extent). Plenty of cord on it and can be run off a 9v battery if need be. Does the job cos my old Moondust got scratched a lot :(

Tis true tho, you have to let them know they are being filmed

And if the sign isnt slapped in their fecking faces they can get around it still... its like people complaining about someones dog biting them... when theres a big ass sign saying beware of the f*cking dog you gammon slipper!

Black and white cameras are usually quite sensitive to IR light - you see some with IR LEDs on them to give them night vision but frankly - it's only any cop indoors. If you want to light up the night, get yourself a halogen floodlight and an IR filter from a good security equipment supplier.

As for invasion of privacy, I don't think that carries any water if the people under surveillance are on your property or directly adjacent to your property - however, you have to ensure that the privacy of the people in the neighbouring buildings is not invaded by the positioning of the camera.

At the end of the trip, if people are vandalising or trespassing upon your property then any claims by them to "invasion of privacy" are likely to fall on deaf ears.

However, you should remember what human nature is like, if someone is of that particular moronic bent they are more likely to act up in front of a camera than behave. If you're going to fit cameras then keep them as covert as possible.
Nothing to see here...

Well i was after something small and discreet, i dont want them to know they are ebgin filmed, as if any damage occurs, it wont be going through the proper authorities anyway, a little bit of vigilanty justice will be served :oooh:
I was more after some full colour ones, as the attacks are happening during the day aswell as at night, and preferably something that is wirless and moveable, as the car can be parked in a few diferent spaces, so needs to be mobile.

Not asking much am i
