Always wondered... does the external wastegate help in any way, i.e. for performance? or is it just the noise?!

well it should stabilse the boost and because the waste gas's are now venting to atmosphere and not being thrown back into the exhaust system it should smooth the flow of gas's in the exhaust system, should feel stronger at the top end of the revs. they are also stronger than internal so can deal with larger amounts of boost easyer. i'll let you know know how it feels to drive when its back on the road

you can put the screamer pipe back into the exhaust system but i want the noise

Knuckles: good idea mate, i've seen 3way joiners on ebay, fuel pipe joiners . swirl pots are used to get any bubbles/air out of the cooling system, they should have 3 conections, an inlet near the top, a vent at the top and exit at the bottom normaly at diffrent angle to inlet. as the coolant comes in the inlet it swirls around to the outlet and any bubbles/air should vent out at the top back to my header tank. they are also used in fuel tanks too to stop fuel surge or any bubbles going up your lines

TOTD are fantastic, i've been using them since they opened and won't take my RST, MK5 Zetec-S or Civic VTI any where else. gr8 blokes heard mixed views about beiges and 195 but i'm sure TOTD will help you out dude

the AP clutch feels really strong but not to fierce, but TBH have only done 20-30 miles on it so far so still needs running properly yet b4 i give it too much billy boost

got the airtec cooler to fit the bumper properly the other day and if i don't have to work tomorrow might get some more time it

only a lil up-date really, things have slowed a touch until the Xmas brake starts and this damn snow thaws

got a small mount sorted for the screamer pipe

removed one of the plastic nut thingys that hold the plastic arch linners in and managed to get a nut into the inner wing and bolt it on

also mocked up a screamer pipe, excuse the Armstrong's tape holding it all together it looks close to the head light wiring but it'll be moved around abit, should be closer to the lil mount



got the turbo cooler to fit the front bumper


just minor mods to fit it but after thinking about it for abit, i think i may cut the back of the fog light pod completely off so i can attach it to the front pannel rather that the bumper so i can remove the bumper with out removing the cooler to save losing coolant every time i want to remove the bumper



ruff idea of the look, will proberly put mesh in to try and deflect the bigger stones, sprayed black of course

a few new bits and pieces have turned up too
some heat wrap from Auto Specialst's and a new turbo oil feed as the other one has a leak from the bit that joins onto the turbo, they replaced it no probs and where as help as ever, gr8 people to deal with

bought some of this to help protect the heat wrap and change its colour, didn't fancy leaving it white

with launch control

only thing is it's missing instructions, the button and the sticky pads on the back have there covers missing

also i think we need twin coil ones on Fiesta RS Turbo's don't we?



i'll ring Burton Power on Monday i'm sure they will sort it

should be good for some da da da da da on the start line, sure it will be gr8 fun with the anti lag system running too, i'm dying to get some flames out of the screamer pipe

my have an up-date soon as my oldman is tacking the screamer pipe together this weekend hopefully and i may try and get down the garage tomorrow for a bit if i feel like braveing the snow and ice

Just remember though, launch control kills tappets/lifters and the cam lobes!

So, I never bothered wiring mine up, I didn't fancy having to buy a new cam kit

Don't get me wrong though, sounds awesome! Heard mixed opinions about whether it actually helps you launch!

how does it kill cams n lifters? just wondering, i think its just a lower rev limiter basicly isnt it, i also run newman solid lifters so that may help but if that alone doesn't brake any thing maybe running the anti lag and launch control will brake something

i know what you mean about how effective it may be on launching, i not expecting it to be like traction control but hopefully when i figure out what rpm is best to launch at i'll set it to that and i can get a decent launch consistantly, well thats the idea any way

i did manage to get a lil time down the garage today (in the snow) and got on with the turbo cooler mounting, nearly there, i'll get some pics up soon

Indeed.. and hitting the rev limiter for a cvh engine isn't great either! It does (typically) wear the cams and lifters, because it basically stalls the engine stopping it from revving (I can't remember the real detail - chris todd at TOTD explained it to me, makes perfect sense). Something about the cams/lifters hitting against each other rather than being able to work as they should, rotating and pushing the lifter..

Its the twin coil you want, which as far as i'm aware is the 4 wire one like you got? i remember mine was 3 wires and was the wrong one.

what size are those alloys mate im geting the same ones but im thinking 16s yours look like 15s im getting coilovers but its the rear shocks im worried about ( rubbing )

yeah mine are 15's and they rubbed on the shocks but was sorted with some 3mm spacers

when i fitted the rear disc set up they rubbed on the archs but was sorted with a lil grinding, not much though

What a Thread ! nice job mate! liking the screamer the most haha, can they be fitted to a standard t3 ? an another thing.. do u hav to be running stupid boost for it to work propely or would it be alryt running say 14psi??

yeah you can use an external wastegate n screamer pipe with a standard T3 but it does need some modifiying, you need to cut the 'penney' off the exhaust housing and weld it to the standard wastegate hole, blocking it up basicly, there are other ways too, Ram on here did it to his grey RST
you also need to modifie the exhaust manifold

you don't need to run silly boost, TiAL do external wastegate spring down to 8psi IIRC. mines an 10psi spring with a basic bleed valve making it 18psi

have now cleared out carport infront of my rs so will be hopefully laying down the last of the slabs to make a better area for the engine build! unfortunatly its like an oven under there at the moment with the roof and this weather so i cant stand the heat for long atall!

now sporting some ambers its already changed from this pic, the screamer pipe tip is matt black and a few other tweeks but havn't got any pic yet

at the min i'm tidying up the body work should be sorted by Ford Fair then need to fit some areo latchs to bonnet, some seam welding and hopefully a cage of some sort.

i've got it back from the body shop after having a bit of rot on top of drivers door shut sorted and the classic filler cap pannel and most of the passenger side sill

the sill had come away from the floor



all sorted now though havent got any pics from underside yet






got a nice new arch to fit too, found it at Ford Fair last year


also popped out the foglight surrounds to fit black mesh

this happened when changing the fuel filter



so bought this off Ebay



you may be just able to make it out in the engine bay below the servo
couple of muky and dust engine bay shots



fitted a clear cambelt cover but not paticulary happy with the fit, also got Ratspeeds old 'carbonfiber' door cards




i think there awesome even if they aint the real stuff they are 100times better than my old ones with knackered tops and speakers chopped into them

also fitted a 82degree thermo stat, nice and cheap from my local motor factors



seems to work quite well too

had to drop the headlining to get the door shut sorted, its proper minging. anyone got any tips on getting it back to what colour it should be or clean/cleaner. think i may have ago with my old mans Vax but don't to ruin it if i can help it
