Thanks for your comments guys but........
The car is for sale at £5000 so that would be a loss of £1000 not £500!
I offered it to Bash at £4,500 for a quick sale, he has decided against it and thats his choice. It's also my choice to not drop the price lower. If I did, i would have sold it ages ago to the first person who offered me £4,000
The car is quite happy staying in my garage for now if no one else wants her. As i have explained, i have now paid out all costs to run her for another year so why should i take a loss? I dont need to. Next year the car will be even more rare.

If someone buys her now they can take her to the Mag feature i've just been offered on her. She will be in Auto Express Magazine.
They are doing a feature with the 5 generations of fiesta. The shoot is Monday 28th Feb at Bruntingthorpe test track in Leicestershire.
Come on someone, she is in need of a new home!

I made the mistake of selling a minter a few years back.
I advertised it for £7,000 - no one
Tried £6,000 for a few months - no one
Eventually sold it for £5500 to a trader - 1 month later I get this call from the new owner. He has bought it from a garage for £7,500 IIRC
Even worse 1 month after that I get another call from someone looking in a old autotrader wanting it for £7,000
It was a 1 lady owner K plate on 16k when I bought it - sold it on 26k in 1998.
They arent selling so fast these days but there are still people out there prepared to pay the money if you wait long enough and are lucky...

Looks like I may have a long wait then. Never mind, I can tell the other half i tried to sell her lol.
I have told all serious parties that i will take £4,500. I think that is a fair deal both ways.
I doubt you will find another one like her!

Right, i'm going to have to swallow my pride here.
Something has happened today which means i will acept £4,000 for the car.
So first one to bring me the cash gets a very good deal!
This is killing me, but I NEED the money now!
Thanks for all the lovely comments over the last couple of months. I feel like i'm letting everyone who owns a good car down by dropping the price, but somethimes sh*t happens and it would seem its my turn

Sweet!
If you still have it in a couple of weeks, it's mine! It's just what I'm looking for. It would be my first FRST, and I've been looking everywhere for a minter like this. I've been keeping an eye on this post, but £5000 was just out of my price range. All I have to do is sell my car first, which is well on it's way.
I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Do you have it in the Autotrader?
Autotrader is the only way you can really sell this car - you will be very unlikely to sell it on a forum - I have tried many forums and sold many cars but all throught either Autotrader or local ads - forums are good for selling alloys and parts.
Local ads are usually only good if you have a cheap runaround - your looking for a enthusiast.
I've had 5 calls on my car with the local ads all wanting to P/X. Will put it in the Autotrader I really want to sell

Taking her to Leicester this weekend for the Auto Express magazine shoot
Gonna see if they will put something in the mag about her being for sale. Hopefully will drum up more interest as should be in the 2nd issue in march.
If not I will be putting it in Auto Trader in 2 weeks time if none of my viewings come good
FingeRS crossed!

If I were you Viki id up the price a touch and get wth the autotrader!
Mine has been on ebay 2 days and I have had 7 Part exchange offers one I would take up last night if the car hadnt prov. sold.
From the local ads I have had 4 Part Exchage offers and 2 lads wanting it if its still for sale when the get the cash together.
From the Autotrader website I have had 2 lads from England interested, one lad from Glasgow planning up later this week to see it. But best of all a lad from Dundee travelled up last night and arrived here at 1am to test drive and view the car
He left at 2am IIRC so should have been home for 4:30am. Is returning on Sat with the cash........I could have asked for more than £3500 thats for sure as im beating them off with a stick
This is only from the Autotrader website!
The car will be in this Fridays Autotrader for the first time but is prov. sold anyway

If she hasnt gone by the 13th I will be putting her in the Trader. She will then be for sale at a higher price as the reason I reduced was to get some money quick.
I know she is worth more and when the issue of Auto Express comes out in March that she is featured in should hopefully give a bit more exposure.
Glad you have someone for yours. Any leftovers pass my way please

I am a bit more optimistic than you Box.
The zetec went the first day it came out in the Trader and I feel i got a good price for that. Also sold another car last year all down to Auto Trader.
I am sure she will go if I put her in the Trader and if not then I will have to raise some money a different way and keep her!
