Problem with iPod and Head Unit...

Postby RichMk3Fez on Wed Feb 08, 2006 2:55 am

Hi,

My mate recently purchased a kenwood head unit, and decided to use his iPod alongside it. So, he purchased a 3.5mm jack to 2-RCA connection to play it through his speakers. Now he has the problem that, when he connects the ipod, the radio plays in the background and is obviously not listenable.

Any ideas on how to overcome this?? Any thoughts are appreciated.

Cheers,
Rich

Either change the headunit that you can buy a dedicated ipod adapter for i.e. the alpine CDA9847R with the KCA-420i adaper, which ables you to be able to control the ipod completely through the headunit! With no radio in the background!!

or buy an FM modulator and turn it into a frequency that doesn't have a station on it!

New headunit and adapter is the way forward!

Hi,

Yeh it is a new head unit, he only got it a couple of days ago lol. Im pretty sure its iPod compatible so ill tell him to buy the iPod adapter kit. I think he was tryin to save some money by using that lead, but ohwell, guess it doesnt work.

Thanks for the help,
Rich
