piping suitable for inlet from air filter

Postby jonyb4 on Thu Dec 03, 2009 3:47 am

im after some kinda piping suitable for the inlet to come from the maf to the inlet, will need two 90 degree angles forming an S shape, however i may be willing to have it hold the filter pointing away form the engine towards the radiator at an angle if, and will then be joined using silicon hoses to the maf and inlet

id pefere something steel or anything else that i can mig weld to make the shape, or something thats already suited for the engine bay

anyone have any suggestions what to use and where to get it

pic of the pipe ill be replacing

thanks Jon

hmm, but you need water and salt to rust, so with reason you shouldnt get water down that inlet pipe, if you did it would damage your engine, so shoudlnt rust

what is the ones in other cars made off? alloy? stainless

unless ur a spork hot welder i wouldnt weld it as it mite look rough! some t2 turbo samcos (the 1 that comes off the turbo that goes 2 the intercooler) would look better with some alloy piping!

looking at that picture you want 2 45degree elbos and 2 straight bits or alloy to the required size and about 5-6 jubilee clips, job done!

mig can only weld steel for st steel you need a tig welder for alloy you need a ac/dc current tig welder :Q
