The underside doesn't look great tbh, rot or no rot, there's nothing to coating a car in waxoil or similar and hammeriting a fuel tank!!

A would be buyer would want to scrape all that under seal off to see for themselves if its hiding anything, not take someone's word for it. Also why have you taken a picture of the new panels???.....are they now on the car??

Mondeo wheels do look nice, I had them myself, but have been done to death now!!!

I think £5k is a bit steep but as said a thousand times its worth what some people are willing to pay.
Good original cars will always be worth more imo,id rather buy an original car that needs work than a fully restored car.
Its good to see RS fiestas still on the road,i remember looking 10 year ago and most were real dogs then!!

£5,000 to £700.

That's says a lot about the car if you're willing to take it, considering its 'one of the best'.

Dude, the FRST compared to newer cars are a bit crap, even with light mods to take it to say 150bhp is nothing now days, a non turbo run of the mill car has as much power as a Frst in std form, but don't let these people get to ya, they are 20years old now but still in a class of there own like the s1, s2 etc and can still see off many of these newer boy racer cars, but [ERRR] they are 20years old people see them as past it and a load of crap, nothing special etc.
I had it back in the 90's with xr2's and tbh they were nothing special, lots about, not worth a w@nk and even modded up were outdated, but still fast!
Nowadays though, if you saw a nice xr2 running twin 45's and sounded nice, it would get some proper attention, may not be the fastest thing on the road but it would get more response than it did in the 90's
And what's more, just has a look at the price of a clean xr2 now, I sold a non mot'ed but running and ready for mot xr2, with a xr2 she'll all it needed was engine, and a boot full of spares and it took 3 weeks to sell and I got £45 for the lot! That was about 1999
Now, that little lot in same condition etc, £1500-2k easy and both cars were not mint but alright.

Take no notice mate a car is worth what someone is willing to pay. I paid 4k for mine last month if I was to compare it to a modern car then its not worth nowhere near that but when I look at it and drive it I get the biggest smile and to me its worth 10k. Don't let other people and there opinions get you down form your own opinions and enjoy what you have. Life would be so boring if we all liked the same things.
