what do you mean by hybrid?
I mean, there is no correct definition for hybrid Turbo. Like many, I would say that an hybrid turbo is a turbo that has got other turbo internals, and was machined to fit this internals.
Like having a T2 with T25 internals.
T2 turbo is more expensive than the T3. Maybe its time to go T3 ERST turbo kit?
Can the T2 be repaired?

boost will need setting on the actuator, and fueling checked on rollers due to diff flow characteristics on the hybrid.

Contact Turbo Technics. They are good (from what i have heard, see link below) and are very resonable.

RSFUN :havent got a clue weather turbo can be repaired what sort of price would i look at for t3 conversion and who to go to?
Check with Turbo reconditioners in Auto Trader or the like
Exchange prices on turbos are suprisingly low, I presume you would be looking at a fitted price ? If so this is what will push the price up

Oh right...
I dont know anything about T28's apart from them being in Rover's but I cannot see what problems you would have with a T3.
Especially when they are the standard turbo fitted to Escorts - the same engine also in your frst.
You trust this bloke yeah?
