Cheers Rob, it's going to be a long hard slog to find all the parts I need,
I can't believe how much harder it is now to find stuff compared with 4 or 5 years ago, everything is getting rarer and rarer.

Im sure Ed can tell us but wonder how the point system works for things like exhaust, square tailpipe is still 100% genuine ford part just a slightly different shape to what came from factory.

Re: My new FRST, Concours project
The grey one on ebay with the standard exhaust is my mates car, Hes had it since the 90s when he used to work at Fords.
I already looked under the car a few years ago at the exhaust, and unfortunately its very very poor!!!
The Main problem ( in my opinion) with concourse is that you arent told exactly the amount of points that you totalled!!
Without knowing this, its hard to see where you went wrong or what wasnt right with the car, and also how far behind you are to the winning car ( points wise).
If people saw that they were say 100 points behind a winning car then would they just throw the towel in and give up if their cars were just as good as they can get them??
Also theres the problem with things such as extras fitted to the car, years of manufacture, and other bits and pieces....... I was pulled up on a non Fiesta spare wheel tray, but had to explain that it wasnt the wheel tray at all, but a genuine FRST 14" wheel tray COVER. ( The Judge had never seen one before!!).
Also I had the time old debate about my car having the gearbox cradle wind deflector fitted. The judges seemed to think it was wrong, but i bought the car at 6 yrs old off an old gent ( who was unlikely to add this
)and four of my mates XR2is and Turbos have all had them fitted.
Exhaust wise im sure Clouses red one used to use a BOSAL exhaust centre section, so if you cant get a standard ford exhaust then it aint nothing massive i doubt. And the prices some people want for a Ford exhaust are ludicrous, id rather loose a few points then hand over silly money for a mild steel Ford Exhaust!!
Then theres different judges...Some will mark a car down in some areas, then you rectify them....... and other judges will mark other areas down at the next show!!
Dont get me wrong, there are some very helpful judges and enthusiasts out there willing to give you as much help as they can...( Blokie for one) and it is a good experience.
Sean, the car looks lovely mate and good luck with the resto. If you need any help with parts or finis codes/ exploded diagrams then just drop me a pm.
Be good to have another Concourse Fiesta on the Rank...

Clouse's old car was originally mine mate, when I pulled it out of a garage local to me for £450
This current car has the remains of the air deflector left as well, so I'm also led to believe it came from factory with it.
Finding parts is a mission, I have a hell of a lot of stuff already, but it's those ultra rare bits, like the exhaust that I would love to have, I must admit I won't be paying hundreds of pounds for one though
I'll be in touch mate I'm sure for various questions, I know Blokie (Dave) and Alan (red concours RS1800) very well, so I'm sure I can make a good go of getting something put together

Re: My new FRST, Concours project
Long overdue update time !
Firstly I'd like to thank, Tony, Nikki, Clarke and Tom Peters for helping me collect lots of lovely gen. Ford parts so far
I certainly have been busy over the last few months collecting parts, far too many to list individually.
But some of them are, Gear nob, steering wheel, lower arms, parcel shelf, suspension ( shocks and springs
)fuel tank, fuel pump, water hoses.
The car itself has been tucked in my parents garage awaiting me finding a suitable place to do all the work, well, it looks like the wait is coming to an end and within 5 weeks I hope to have part of a large unit rented for me to begin the strip down, less than 5 mins. from my house.
Now, considering the fact that the unit will cost me £40 a week to rent, I will be spending every spare minute there working on the project. I hope to get it stripped painted and the underside done within 3 months.
The original engine has been stripped and sent away for a full rebuild, the gearbox also will be treated to an overhaul, I'm going to get the gearbox casing blasted and coated to look o/e, a mate of mine has this done over 10 years ago and his still looks factory fresh.
I'm still hunting for 2 rare things, tyres and exhaust, I refuse to pay silly money for these items so I'm prepared to loose a few concours points by using non gen/ aftermarket parts.

Re: My new FRST, Concours project
Well this morning I actually found time to do something to the car.
I removed the front bumper and took everything off of it ready for it to be painted next week,
I've also bought another bonnet, though its not perfect atm, it has minor rust on the inside edge,
the body shop will sort that for me.
A few pictures, this side is rust free !

after a quick clean up

The other side has one small rust scab which will be dealt with

and cleaned

state of play atm

So, the car hopefully will see the road this year and then be stripped in October for an under body and engine bay resto.
I bought some 3dr Cosworth alloys in the week that I'm going to get diamond cut, pictures when they are back with me.
New Airtec radiator and hose set have been ordered, again, pictures when it all arrives.
As you've probably seen/read I bought a standard exhaust system yesterday, If I do decide to go standard concours, this will be used.
More updates soon
