Do you have a cover to keep the rain off it btw?
Because all that primer and filler will absorb water eventually.
Looks good tho, nice project

ive been thinking, since ive smoothed all the bumper lines, body kit lines and the roof swage lines above the rear quaters, who think i should also fill the recess below the glass on the side of the car? ive quickly shopped it to show u what i mean and thought id chuck my proposed wheels on for good measure
but what do you think to smoothing out this line as well, or is it going too far?

deff go for it m8. best to do it now, rather than paint it then think i wished id have painted it.
but rethink the wheels
too small and ugly.

thanks for all the feedback. i took a look at the swage line under the windows and im leaving it. it sort of flares out at the boot to keep the bottom part level with the lights, and its not really worth doing. boots now smooth, passenger doors been de locked and de handled and all smooth and the body kits been finished and it now all smooth. If ive got time tomorrow the jacking point covers are being smoothed in and the back bumper lines will be finished....hopefully
also i wanna go for some different mirrors as everyone goes for the 3.5 mirrors, but im weiry of going for dtm's or m3 mirrors. Any suggestions?

just a few small updates. Got some OMP front and rear strutbraces. about 3 layers of differnt paint on them so ive taken them back down to the bare metal which took about 3 hours with a drill and wire brush. ALso got some AVO coilovers
so i drop her as much as i like. Will be re finishing these next week as they are a bit scruffy. Thats it till saturday as im working in london, so cant work on it, but comments welcome.

looking good , i was after them coilovers off luke a while a go
will you have to fit the mk3 hubs seing as yours is a mk3.5
and them coilovers are for a mk3
i like the wheels too but think you'd be better going for wide 15's as 14 will look a little lost i the arches with all the work your doing

yeah ive already swapped to xr2i hubs, thats why the si spax kit i bought origionally didnt fit on the front
, ive fitted the coilies now, the little 13s are about 20mm up the arches sat inside, not bothering adjusting them as i got a rs turbo rear beam going on next week, but its coming along nicley, went to a scrappy today but he didnt have any mk4/5 dashes or doorcards, so going to another one tomorrow to see about that. should have some progress by this weekend and the smoothed bodykits going on and hopefully the modded rear bumper

yep, its got an xr2i cvh engine in it at the moment so when we fitted that we had to put the xr2i hubs on it because of the drive shafts as it was a 1.1i before. so as long as u change the front hubs to 2i/turbo ones they will fit straight on and they go straight on the rear whether its a mk3 or mk3.5

You should be ok with the backs - just be really careful with offset, you should consult fordunit as I think he's after a similar setup to you but may be going even wider!
I ran 16x8 Escort Cossie rims on mine for a while and they rubbed like buggery on the bodykit and bumpers in places, but if you spent more time on it then with the smaller diameter rims you'd probably fare alot better than I did. All I can urge you is don't use wheels that will compromise the car's driveability and handling, to me that completely defies the point of changing the wheels from standard.
Cheers,
Andy

whaaa...?
and for the bonnet, i had the standard bonnet, cut holes in it an then used bathroom silicon underneith to stop water then p38 over the top to blend them in, but im ditching it and using as real rs turbo bonnet as it keeps cracking and the bonnect had the line filled using only filler before i got it and im worried it will crack, so getting a genuine bonnet soon.

finally finsihed the skirts and arches, well almost,
, just one more skirt to smooth. Taken ages, hell of alot more work than i expected as the plastic isnt level itself so smoothing is hard but ive percivired. here are some pics. will have some pics up tomorrow of the de locked and de handled doors, and hopefully the twin exit rear bumper.

yer ive changed the title, i do that last for some reason. yeah it was harder to smooth them than i thought, as when u look at them on a car they dont sit flush and straight anyway so it was a bit tricky to get it to blend into the same shape as the recess. shortening the numberplate recess on the tasilgate as well, ive draw it all up so gunna make a trail one on an old boot lid first and see how it turns out.

finallygot round to doing some work to it.
firstly the rear bumper now looks a bit like this
marked out and rough cut
doner peice
fibreglassed in
now drying so i can rub it down and start blending.
Got round to de locking the drivers door
(please excuse my shoddy welding)
also blanked off the second wiper hole as im going to run a single wiper so thought id do it properly
and finally i started the engine bay plates, another thing i wish i hadnt started
