MK4/MK5... same car but with different headlights and wings etc
Some MK4's will have had Black A-Pillar Trims.. Most MK5's will have... Think they're £7ish from ford IIRC
The higher spec ones suchas the 'Ghia' cars willof had electric mirrors... athough it was an optional extra so they can be found on most of them.
Not sure about interiors... dont like any of the ones i've seen although the leather interiors are tasty

the mk5s have better interiors, my mk4 had a horrible interior, but the later ones had black trim and different style seats. 'Zetec' trim models have 'sports' style seats.
Complete black interiors arn't that hard to come by and you shouldn't be paying more than £150 but some of them have a dirty red or green in the middle which looks cack.
I'm pretty sure all the models had electric windows at some point except then encore. My LX didn't have them but my mates LX is identical but made 1 month later and had leccy windows and mirrors.

Max M4X WW :Forgotten which interior mark said he liked. Some model with nicer seats etc.
Freestyle mate, I have one in green. Nicest interior out of the lot I think plus comes with remote locking and all the extras. Had the chance of a Fiesta black interior but the leather looked a kinda brown/dirty grey colour up close. I did orginally think that some phase 2 mk5's came with a black interior instead of the very dark grey but I was incorrect, it's only the Puma (and even then it's not black, it's blue/black like the high spec mk3's).
Dave - Mk4's didn't have dark pillar trims, the choices were light blue, very light grey and beige. Phase 2 Mk4's (Late S plate onwards) came with the medium shade of grey that was found in phase 1 Mk5's.
The best phase 1 mk4 interior was the Si, it had the 'sport' seats, but mostly all phsae 1 mk4 cars had material with a pattern that looked resembled a pool of vomit! Phase 2 Mk4's got the Mk5 style seats and a hugely improved material choice. No sport seats for the phase 2 mk4 though, they arrived in 2000 with the Mk5 Zetec-S. E/M's were standard on some pre-colour coded Si's, but optional on everything else except the Ghia.

My Mk 4 is a 1998 S plate Zetec, but is still fitted with the same "sports" seats fitted to the Zetec-S, ie phat kidney bolsters. Has very dark grey A/B/C pillars but a slightly lighter grey dash. White dials, R/C/L, E/W, but no air con, thats about it.

You positive they are the late sports seats mate? Get some pics up.
They should be like this (standard style):
I've never seen a mk5 sport style seat in anything other than a ZS.

The only models with Black interiors were very late MK5s. Most have Medium Graphite (Dark Grey) Interiors. Try 2002 models and Diesels.
Avoid MK4 interiors bar the updated Zetec models (98/99 onwards) which came with the same interiors as the MK5 Fiestas (Zetec S Style). The pick of the cloth interiors is the Black Interior that was fitted in the late Freestyle special editions that had either Silver or Black paint.
We have the blue Zetec S sports interior in our 2000 MK5 5dr Zetec.
Electric Mirrors and Heated Front Screens were pretty much optional on all models across the range apart from the Ghia / Ghia X models. Quite hard to find either way. Ghia models have velour seats unless they have leather fitted. Cream leather on MK4 models and either Midnight Black (Dark Grey) or Truffle (Cream) leather in MK5s.
The Fiesta Black had a Midnight Black leather interior and only 1000 or so 3dr Fiesta Blacks were made so these interiors are very hard to come by. I had this interior fitted in my old Fiesta and sold it recently.

All Phase 2 Mk5's came with Midnight Black mate, and these were from 'X' plate in late 2000. It's not black at all but a really dark grey - confusing!
Medium Dark Graphite is actually the really light grey, here:
Another stupid name, it's anything but dark!

I am convinced that I have seen some Black dashes, I've got Fiestas with the same interiors as the ones pictured and I have seen interiors that are much darker.

I'll get some pictures sorted, as far as I remember, when my step dad originally ordered the car from Ford, I "think" he specified sport seats, but I can't remember. Leave it with me, I'll get something up.
Wouldn't suprise me, my mum also owned a Mk 6 3 door Ghia.....and was told by Ford they never made one another "specialist order" me thinks

They do make MK6 3dr Ghia's, they are included on the MK6 price list I have in front of me. I would assume they are made to order as they are very rare. Last one I saw was parked inside the gates of Buckingham Palace and it had cream leather
Our MK5 comes up on Microcat as having the 'Sports' interior fitted.

tompeteRS :Mark I'm going to disagree with you on this, I think your interior is Medium Dark Graphite, and the lighter one pictured below has another name. From checking out part numbers on Microcat I found out that the plastic that goes with my Fiesta Black interior is in Medium Dark Graphite.
I will check it out again on Microcat but I have seen Black interiors and they are Black not Dark Grey as you are suggesting.
The proof is on Microcat:
Medium Dark Graphite - 98-00 (Phase 2 Mk4 and Phase 1 Mk5 - light grey)
Midnight Black 00- (Phase 2 Mk5 - Dark Grey)
The only other black is 'Alchemy' and that's Puma. Now having said that, I have seen what appeared to be a 'true black' interior in a scrap car, but there just isn't the proof to back it up.

More for Mark's info that the thread, but do these count as "sport"?
My dash.
I remember sitting in Jamie's (SPo0n's) old Z-S and his seats were the same in terms of bolster size etc (seat base and side), he reckoned they were the same aswell.

they are exactly the same just retrimmed. fudgekin awful, i used to fall out of them when trying to take corners at anything over 12mph. was a horrible driving position aswell i could never get comfortable. i only bought that car on an impulse cos it looked nice. wish i'd took it for a longer test drive and realised how shocking the interior really was!

Yep they are Sport seats mate, but as I suspected they are Phase 1 Mk4 and not the Phase 2 Mk4 (and Mk5) seats
I've driven a few cars with each, and if anything the earlier seats are little better.

I edited my post when I realised Mark had proved me wrong after checking things up on Microcat. I'd always assumed mine was Medium Dark Graphite as I've also seen a few late Ghias and Phase III Zetec S with 'true black' interiors and not really paid any attention to the other colours.
It would be interesting to see if a later Microcat edition came up with anything different as the last MK5s were being registered in Jan 03.
