MK3.5 1.6 Si, identify this fuel pipe?
hey all here is a pic where I have marked a red circle over 2 small pipes that seem to come from the fuel filler neck pipe to the fuel tank. the 2 pipes in question on my car have been rubbed through by the rear wheel and cut through now. this happened when I had a rear end hit many years ago.
question is what is the purpose of those 2 pipes? I do know if I do a full tank right to the filler neck then petrol leaks out of those pipes.
how can I fix them? or do I have to replace the entire filler neck pipe and assembly?

of the two thin pipes one goes to the very top of the tank the other goes to the front of the car with a joint at the bulkhead then on to the charcoal filter you can cut and join them no problem

They don't carry any pressure in real terms, but should be airtight in the same way you would a vacuum pipe. On Escorts there's a basic valve that sits on one of these lines which if the car rolls it prevents fuel from leaking via that line.
