Well as some may know and others will shortly, I have cravings for carbon somewhat of late.

I had some carbon door cards made for my car and these were fitted without using the original handles on the inside of the car as to reduce weight further. One issue was I had difficulty closing the door from the inside.
Try pulling from the poly window slider and the window felt like it would pull out. So a handle or pull was needed to be made.. Well the resolution has arrived.

100% Leather handles which yep you guessed it are stamped with a Carbon Fibre pattern :cool:

:Q nice little touch mate ...why not a recess like a pocket in the carbon fibre door cards or is that just not worth the extra ££ and trouble?

Yes mate anythings possible but to have that moulded it would treble the cost of the door cards.. :(

Well I pushed the car out the garage today for a 2009 Pre season clean.

Also had a few bits in which I wanted to do.

Fitted the carbon door handles on the car as I had only previously only fitted one side.
The it was time to remove the side mouldings I had.

Considering i had hunted for ages to find brand new sets from Ford not 2 years ago, Im not sure if
it was wise to remove them. :o

Anyway all removed with no drama and they are all pristine with no mis shapedness to them.
These will be going on ebay now.

Then it was a through polish and a quick blat around the local motorway.

Now the carbon ones look a bit drab :(

I may try some silver Comp ones see which looks best.

Well due to the rain Friday night it washed all the salt away on the motorway, so once the sun dried it all yesterday it was GO GO GO

Re: M4D RST Fiesta -UPDATE /DYNO FEB- 10th

Postby luca on Tue Feb 10, 2009 11:58 am

Update time

Well the car was taken to JKM Saturday where it is having some more work carried out to enable us to do the full boost mapping.
First port of call was to have the current injectors removed and the new 750cc Siemens Black injectors flow tested before fitting.

The turbo also has been removed and the waste gate ported /machined to combat some boost creep we were experiencing on the first mapping session. This was carried out yesterday, and the new gaskets for the turbo to manifold and turbo to down pipe have also arrived this morning ive been informed. This should hopefully be all re-fitted today and then final checks before going back on the dyno.

As for further improvements to the car, these are already under way too. The current brake set up was amazing with 230hp however with another 100hp stuffed up its Orse I was shocked at how badly they coped. For this reason I approached COMP BRAKE whom have made a custom brake kit for me. The good news is this will also be available as a kit very soon. Running 304mmx28 rotors on alloy bells and a Race spec 4 pot calliper.
I hope to have these delivered shortly just awaiting the brackets back from the anodisers.

More carbon is also underway but money has halted progress, any donations are always welcome please APPLY by PM.

Yes im running 15x7 et35 Compomotive CXG wheels, the brake kit has been made to fit under such wheel.

As long as you have a motorsport style 15 wheel (larger clearence) you will be able to use the kit. :aviator:
