*update*
right haven't updated this for a while due to forgetting camera and being held up by the lovely british weather.
Ive stripped down the rear drums and given them a lick of paint in preparation for fitting the new cylinders and shoes.fitted the rear coilovers.got mint rear bumper and O/S wing mirror from the scrappy.I bought a second hand head which had had some work done to it,so i stripped the followers, springs and valves out of it which was took down the local machining place to have a pressure test and skim. The inlet manifold for the twin 40's was also took to be ported out to match the head, which was way off
.Ive stripped down the other engine to the block so its ready to be painted once the weather perks up.few pics and hopefully get some more pics if i remember tomorrow.comment welcome guys and gals

yeah all back together with the parts i got mate, also painted floor inside and unneigh, painted inner arches, so not alot left to do until other bits turn up.
well depends what the body is like if the body is in good nick then might turn it into a track car, but if body is rotten then it will get stripped of all the parts

**update time**
quick update, got the 6 base plates for the rollcage welded in finally and gave them a few coats of ash black.sanded down the cage from surface rust and primed in up although i ran out of primer just before i had chance to finish the main hoop
but the light was starting to fade anyway so will finish that tomorrow.I'll prime up the wheels at the same time and if theres enough time i might be able to get the top coat on the cage, that's all for now folks
few pics:
footwell plate welded in
turret after first coat of paint
cage out and flatted back
primed
nearly finished being primed
random one of the back
cheers steve

cheers knuckles,no not a M3 mirror or bodykit in sight
,It seems there is a oily type substance already on the threads but how long that stays on after a few hundred miles is anyones guess.was looking into pretective "sleeves" to prolong the life of them but the search came to nothing.cheers steve

You should give Gaz a call and ask what that stuff is. You want to keep them in tip top condition for as long as humanly posible - they bloody cost a bomb.
My spax rsx ones need a refurb - couple are leaking fluid. I wonder if they could be fitted with covers to stop road grime getting all over them....

**update** from 11/03.07
Got over to the car fairly early yesterday to make the most of the awesome weather.Firstly i finished priming the rear cage and then sanded back and primed the doorbars,I could then move onto the wheels putting two coats on the inners of the wheels and 3 coats on the faces. The weather was spot on,beautiful sunshine and no wind what so ever so i cracked on to get the top coats on,going to leave the wheels to set till friday then fit the new yoko's.Feels like the car is getting some where now and hopefully I can keep the momentum up.steve

That cage looks fairly handy, bolting into plates like that is the only way I'd do it too, I can't stand my temporary arrangement

**small update**
Nothing special, but I had a bit of time spare today so I painted a couple of interior bits that needed doing,Ive been meaning to do it for a while and with the sun shining it was the perfect oppotunity.I got the door handles for £2.60 posted off ebay which was a fooking bargain and was exactly what i was looking for.The handbrake cover was off a member on here,Ive added a few O-rings to the grooves for better grip.
cheers steve

**update 18.03.07**
Right guys small update of the work I did this morning,I had new bearings pressed into the hubs so I could then rebuild the front.Due to fitting RS2K wheels I needed to use 5mm spacers so I fitted the extended wheel studs and put the hubs and front GAZ on with a new NSF CV boot.I then put on the new disks and painted calipers and carriers and the front braided lines. Also fitted the rear cylinders so just got to put the new shoes on the back and its ready to come off the axle stands

cheers steve
