I wouldn't personally. Its called insurance fronting, and is illegal, and when you front the insurance company, you're essentially not covered.

Think about it - you're the registered keeper of the car but the main driver of the car isn't you? Insurance companies aren't stupid and can tell you're only doing it to get cheaper insurance. In the long run, its better to go on your own, with a parent as a named driver if needs be.

It will be because its your first year - my first year I had to pay it fully - my parents got a loan for it and I paid it off :)

What do you pay? But think about the car you drive, its going to a bit high - whats your age and how many no claims? That comes into account with it.

Me and Rhys was sitting on msn the other night getting quotes for him on his car which is a 1.1... and you would think hes trying to insure a ferrari with the quotes we got

Some 1.1s are it seems, but it doesn't make sense? :-?

A mate used to have a 1.6si, lives in a town on the main road, but the car was parked in the driveway and paid £1000 for his first year of insurance.

I had and still have my 1.1, i live in a quiet village and my car gets parked on a road at night, i had to pay £1200 for my first year of insurance.

Both of these policys were taken out with the same comapny, work that one out? :-?

But i now have 2 ncbs so my insurance isnt as bad now :P

Insurance is a funny thing.

Sometimes its pure luck you get a cheap quote.

I remembe my mate when he first got his licence bought a nissan primera 1.6 16v and he managed to find on the internet a quote for £600 for a year and fully comp. No idea how he managed it. Showed me proof cause i needed it i was that shocked.

I reckon insurance should be prety cheap where i live, the only crime here is if someone leaves your gate open. Alot of dodgy drivers tho.

My insurance is £1200 for my 1.1 and that is only third party. I also live in a quiet village, but seems like i live on a roundabout with mines all around according to price :D
